80s hits reclaimed with a dark feminine edge
Reclamation takes songs we already know—songs that have lived in our cars, bedrooms, mixtapes and memories for decades—and puts them in the hands of a woman telling the story from a completely different place.
Every song on Reclamation was originally recorded and made famous by a male artist. That choice was purposeful.
Lurleen chose songs written and performed from a male perspective and asked what happens when a woman steps inside them. What changes when these familiar words, desires, frustrations and stories are sung through a woman’s voice and lived experience?
These aren’t nostalgic reproductions. They’re reimagined, rebuilt and reclaimed.
Through a darker, more sensual and distinctly feminine lens, Lurleen revisits the music of the 1980s with the perspective that comes from having actually lived some life: desire, anger, vulnerability, humor, power, loss and the freedom that comes when a woman stops asking permission to take up space.

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Lurleen brings Reclamation to the stage at Assembly Hall in Austin, Texas for a one-night album release celebration.
This is more than a performance of the record. It’s a gathering of the musicians, singers, collaborators, friends and community who have been part of bringing Reclamation to life.
The evening will bring together Lurleen’s band, backing vocalists and special guest musicians, including acclaimed blues guitarist Jackie Venson, multiple award-winning singer/songwriter Sara Hickman, and nationally acclaimed, award-winning singer/songwriter Suzanna Choffel as well as the Arlyn Studios Singers and the Saint James Church Choir.
Together, they’ll bring these reclaimed songs to the stage for a night celebrating the record, the people who made it and the community that has grown around the music.
